Coventry Blaze 1-3 Sheffield Steelers Official Game Sheet

The Steelers took the win in Coventry as I predicted in the Preview. The Scoring didn’t start until the 2nd Period when Luke Fulghum fired the Steelers ahead after 5:35 of the 2nd Period on a Power Play and that was all the action for the Second Period. The Blaze leveled the score 7:11 into the 3rd Period through a Shea Guthrie marker then 2 further goals for the Steelers a Mike Ramsay Short Handed goal at 15:37 then a Jonathan Phillips goal at 18:53 sealed the 2 points for the Steelers and joint second place in the Challenge Cup Group B standings  with a game to play.

Braehead Clan 4-2 Hull Stingrays Official Game Sheet

The Clan took the win in this game as I predicted which has put the Clan 2 points behind the Devils with a game in hand.

As I predicted the Devils ran away with this one.  Even Interim Head Coach Brent Hughes was unable to change the fortunes of the Stars.

As I predicted the Giants took this game but I couldn’t have predicted how close it was going to actually be.

Preview Sunday 11/12/2011

Sheffield Steelers v Braehead Clan 5:00 pm GMT

The Sheffield Steelers should easily win this game but it will by no means be a walk in the park for the Steelers.

Edinburgh Capitals v Hull Stingrays 6:00 pm GMT

This should be a mediocre un-inspiring game between two mid table teams and will more than likely be a low scoring game.

Dundee Stars v Fife Flyers 6:30 pm GMT

This bottom of the table clash will be the game to watch, with the Stars parting company with former Head Coach Dan Ceman and brought in Assistant Coach Brent Hughes as the interim Head Coach.

Brent told Dundee Stars TV “We need to re-focus and get back on track. I’ve been assistant to Dan for the past two years and I learned a lot. I’ll call on that experience and the knowledge I’ve gained from other professional coaches to take us forward. We need to start afresh with this team. And we need to turn things around quickly if we want to make the play-offs like we did last season.”

Good luck Brent and I hope you can turn around the fortune of the Stars and at least salvage a place in the Play-Offs.

Results & Review of tonights games along with Tuesdays Preview will be posted tomorrow morning.
